Infusion for emergent situations
Intraosseous Infusion (IO) Needle
Used primarily during pediatric emergencies as an alternative to unsuccessful intravenous access to allow for effective infusion of resuscitative drugs or fluids.
- Two side ports positioned opposite each other near the needle cannula’s tip ensure flow if obstructed by the bone cortex
- A mark 1 cm above the needle cannula’s tip serves as a visual depth reference
